Earth: 60 million years ago. A Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops rage at each other, engaged in heated battle. Suddenly an explosion rips through the heavens above, momentarily distracting them both. 200 miles above, two spaceships hover above the Earth’s atmosphere. One of them - the Shambhala - has taken a heavy hit. The other ship - dark and mysterious - watches silently as it begins to descend into the Earth’s atmosphere. The Shambhala falls to earth, a plume of fire and smoke trailing behind it. Then it impacts, sending thousands of tones of dust and earth into the atmosphere, blocking out the sun.
Some time later, a small band of dinosaurs - a Stegosaurus, Parasauralophus and Triceratops - cross the darkened terrain. But they are not alone. A T-Rex suddenly jumps them, quickly followed by a velociraptor looking for an easy kill. The two predators chase the three dinos into a cave and down into the darkness. But this is no ordinary cave. The five dinosaurs find themselves inside a brightly lit metallic room, filled with glowing yellow orbs. Two of these orbs - encased in metal disks - circle above them, and they’re talking to each other! After a brief discussion about the suitability of the reptilian species below them, one of the disks descends, attaching itself to the chest of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Suddenly the room is filled with orange light as the T-Rex is fused with the gaseous alien inside the orb. The result is an eight-foot hybrid: humanoid body, but with T-Rex physical characteristics. And a tail. The other orb descends, followed by three others and soon all five dinosaurs have been assimilated into the Super Space Dinos. They are: Jy-K: the ship’s captain, No-A: pilot, El-A: scientist, Ol-E: tech guru and Za-K: the Shambhala’s security chief. The team waste no time in getting the Shambhala back in working order, finally enabling them to leave the Earth.
Realizing that they have inadvertantly caused the extinction of the planet’s reptilian inhabitants, they store the DNA signatures of each and every species on the planet before departing.Once in orbit again, a sneak attack by the mysterious ship somehow causes a wormhole, instantly pulling the Shambhala inward. Once through the other side they discover that they’ve been transported 60 million years into the future to the year 3000. The team are about to leave orbit when they suddenly pick up signatures of Kumaran life on the planet. Theorising that members of their crew – the ship holds some 1536 dormant Kumara – may have been lost during the crash, the team head down to the surface once more, this time in a smaller (less destructive) shuttle. What they find there is a world not dissimilar to the one they just left. But after meeting a young boy and girl on their first mission, they discover that it wasn’t always like this. They also learn that a dark and mysterious figure from their past has played a large part in turning what was once a lush green planet into a barren wasteland. |

The stories will blend the team’s primary mission - to locate the missing alien disks - with their ongoing struggle to do what’s right. The following are a few examples:
Tears of the Sun - Pilot Having picked up some weak alien energy readings, the Super Space Dinos head to the barren wasteland known as Austin, where they come across a small settlement (known as Daedalus) in crisis. In an effort to avoid being baked by the sun, the settlers have created an energy shield to protect themselves. Now the shield has gone down and the lives of all the inhabitants of the small town (humans and aliens alike) are in jeopardy. Unwilling to help, Jy-K and the boys bypass the town, heading off into the mountains to search for the missing alien disks, closely followed by one of the settlement’s younger inhabitants. Undeterred, El-A stays behind to try and discover the cause of the shut down, inadvertently bonding with a five-year-old girl named Noise who is distressed at the sudden disappearance of her older brother, Bug. After several skirmishes with desert mercenaries, the boys come across a band of cave dwellers who attempt to sell them a variety of 25th century artifacts, and among them are two alien disks. But they’re empty. Meanwhile El-A and Noise make a discovery of their own. The shield was being powered by two aliens who had been captured inside glass globes. Having reactivated the aliens, a Tyran Corp fleet shows up almost immediately, bringing with them an old friend: Tyranika. With the fate of Daedalus hanging the balance, the team need to come together to find a way to save the town, liberate their brothers and avoid being blown to pieces. there’s only one thing for it: it’s time to ‘Go Dino!’
Knight at the Museum After a tip-off, the Dinos and their new sidekicks, Bug and Noise, head to the encapsulated city of Florida in search of another of their alien kind. The team’s intel suggests that a disk is on show at the city’s elite museum and so, since the dino’s hardly blend in, Bug goes in undercover. But as soon as he enters the building Bug begins to have visions of a world being ravaged by hundreds of warships, which block out the planet’s twin suns. Eventually Bug manages to find the disk, but as he does the visions increase and he collapses. Having not heard from their spy, the Dinos and a concerned Noise head into the museum under cover of darkness and are immediately confronted by security drones in the shape of armored knights. While Jy-K, No-A and Za-K attempt to use brute force to bring down the metal menaces, Ol-E hangs back, messes with the building’s systems and shuts down the power grid, rendering them useless. Having eventually found Bug, the team listen as - in a trance-like state - he relates the story of the destruction of the Kumara homeworld as if he were there. El-A brings Bug round while Ol-E investigates the disk. Then, as they prepare for their escape, the power grid comes back online and the group are confronted by an army of knights. As the Dino’s each attempt to use their own skills to bring down the drones, one by one they fall, leaving Noise unprotected. Desperate to save the situation, Bug figures he only has one choice: to attach the alien disk to his chest and hope for the best. The result is SuperBug: a superhuman hybrid who makes short work of the knights. But while SuperBug seems elated with his new form, the Dinos aren’t so sure that the Kumara inside the disk has Bug’s best intentions at heart.
The Others The team are navigating their way through the thick, deadly jungle of Honduras when they come across the ruins of an ancient temple. While most of the guys want to skip the history lesson, Ol-E enters and discovers that the walls and objects inside are all part of some kind of wormhole technology. Meanwhile, out in the jungle Za-K gets the feeling that they are being watched and decides to double back to surprise the team’s stalkers. His plan works and soon the Super Space Dinos are facing off against four bad-ass looking aliens that seem somehow familiar. Unaware of the conflict outside, Ol-E continues to investigate the ruins and discovers wall paintings featuring a monster with an alien disk attached to his chest. He also sees renders of four aliens, each of which has a name carved beneath them. Realizing the significance, he rushes out to tell the others. Ol-E arrives as the two groups are in the midst of a fierce battle, managing to stop them by ‘going Dino’ and thwacking down a large tree with his tail. As the two groups stop to take stock, Ol-E steps up and explains who the others are: they are them, from the future! Equipped with new bodies (seemingly larger, stronger and fiercer), the Future Space Dinos explain that they’ve come to find the Chupacabre, an ancient monster that uses the temple as a gateway. The team track down the monster, working together to defeat it. Well, almost all the team. Curious as to why the new team is four and not five (it’s clear Za-K is no longer part of the operation), Za-K hangs back in the shadows to observe. With the mission complete, the Future Space Dinos bid their farewell, warning them of the difficult battle they have yet to face.
The 13th Warrior Having found all but one of the unaccounted for Kumara disks, the team head north to the bustling space port of NewYork in search of the final one. Upon arrival they are greeted with a street parade for the city’s self-proclaimed protector: The Victor - a superhero, cape and all! As The Victor stands, soaking up the applause, the crowd shout ‘Super-size, super-size, super-size!’ Reluctantly The Victor agrees and hits his chest, filling the air with yellow light. As it clears, we see The Victor has grown several feet taller and now looks very much like SuperBug (a humanoid version of the Super Space Dinos). The team waste no time in capturing The Victor, but before No-A can rip the disk from his chest, El-A steps in and attempts to get the full story. Frightened for his life, The Victor (or Victor Trubkink as he was once known) explains that the disk has been in his family for generations, and every 40 or so years it is passed down to the next Victor. Unsure of whether to separate the two anymore, the team are distracted by the sudden arrival of Tyranika and a fleet of Tyran Corp ships. As the team get ready for the biggest battle yet, they suddenly discover that Za-K has gone missing. With The Victor standing in as a last-minute replacement, the team head out to make their final stand.Meanwhile, aboard the Shambhala, Za-K fires up the engines and sets a new course, taking one last look at Earth before zooming off into space. Unbeknownst to him, Bug observes silently from behind a control panel. Having fended off Tyranika once more, the Super Space Dinos take stock. With Za-K’s intentions unclear, they begin to question whether all has been lost. Have they been double-crossed or has Za-k - seeing that they might loose the battle with Tyranika - played safe by hiding their race? |
